Steampunk and Handmade Monday

It's that time of the week again - Handmade Monday - pop over a have a look!!


I've been recovering from the comic con, but have had some time to make some new creations!
I've been experimenting with Fluxe Resin Powder... This is something I've been meaning to do for a while, and here's the results!

First piece I did - prototype :)

Then I went onto do these... I've done Doctor Who & Torchwood steampunk as I have a stall at DIFFCON in August, but will be doing lots of variations...

I love the effect with the resin and watch parts!!!

I then went on to make some other steampunk goodies

Comic Con and Handmade Monday

Well, I haven't blogged for ages... I've been a very good girl and getting ready for my first major event - Wales Comic Con!!!  Well  a great weekend was had by all... I did totally forget to take photos but have found some others have taken.

All in all a successful day, and lovely meeting up with friends old and new!  but feeling very old - should not have gone out the night before - lack of sleep made the Sunday interesting!!

This week I have been mostly making pendants...

Vintage Faerie Picture on 25mm Pendant

Well, I'm loving  doing the pendants.  And have spent loads of free time this week making and making!!
I've had loads of Deliveries of shiny things including the materials to make these from this great shop:  Jasmin Studio Crafts  Really good stuff and very friendly!




At the moment they are mostly Alice in Wonderland Themed and Fairies, though I've also done a few favourites!!

I've also took delivery of a mini drill - very exciting, just looking around for things to drill, so I've made some earrings!

Scrabble tile earrings- these made me laugh, it was hours after the photo was taken that I realised what these spelt!!!

Alice Necklace

So, playing with some shiny things turned into spending a lot of time (and money) on lots of shiny things!!  But I've been having fun.  Trying something new, using pictures behind glass for pendants... Here's my first attempt - Alice in Wonderland inspired. Hoping to use this method for some sci-fi themed makes.  Don't know if I would like a bead on it as well?? Comments welcomed :)

Handmade Monday... And Shiny Things

Well, I'm feeling a lot better, but work has taken it's toll this week... Not had much time for anything.  I have resisted the urge to go on forums etc, so that I could actually get some stuff made.  I have a stall at Wales Comic Con at the beginning of June so need to get stocked up on all things shiny.

Quick catch up...

Well, what a couple of weeks I've had, I was ill for a whole week (soooo frustrating).. once I'd kicked that I had a friend come to stay, then craft fair at the weekend... Oh and work on bank holiday Monday.  I'm home for the rest of the day so playing catch up.. Hopefully I can find some time to be creative this week :)

OOAK Faerie Doors... Handmade Monday

Well, what have I been up to.  It's been a very busy week with not much time, but I've still managed to get a few things done.  I tried my hand at some OOAK Faerie Doors, made from polymer clay.  Don't know what I hadn't done it before  They are so nice to make, time consuming but therapeutic.  I'm still playing with ideas, but here's the first three - I hope you like them!!

They are all around 3" tall.  I'm trying to think of a nice way of doing the back as I'm not happy with what I've done on these.

I've gone slightly into panic mode today as I've realised my first Craft Market in years is fast approaching - Easter Sunday!!! It's at the lovely Cove Garden Nursery, Devon  - come and say hello!!

So maybe I should actually go and do some stuff!!!! I'm off!!!
